A stoneware relief wall plaque designed by German-born Marianne Starck for Denmark’s Michael Andersen & Son and dating back to the 1960s.
Three birds – glazed in glossy blue – stand in the foreground on what looked like a cobbled street with vegetation in the background. The plaque measures 24cm x 17cm and it is made in heavy stoneware.
The back of the wall plaque bears Starck’s MS monogram, the mould number (6267), the Michael Andersen impressed three fish shield as well as a paper label. There is a grove into the stoneware at the back for hanging.
