Stoneware vase made by Germany’s Ceramano. The pattern – by Hans Welling – is called “Etrusca” and dates back to the early 1960s.
During this period, much ceramic production in Europe was influenced by designs of past cultures and cave drawings.
The vase has a bottle form and measures just under 24cm in height. The diametre of its base is 7cm. The brown glaze is mottled and has a slight texture to the touch.
The vase is in great condition with no chips or cracks.
The base is marked “169 ETRUSCA CERAMANO W. GERMANY HANDARBEIT”.
Ceramano was a factory which opened in 1954 and produced limited ranges of generally higher quality items compared to other manufacturers at the time. Due to strong competition, Ceramano attempted to move into more mass produced and lower quality items without success. The factory closed in 1989. For more details about Ceramano CLICK HERE.
