GUBEL is a fascinating object of beauty designed by Piece of Denmark. PIECE of DENMARK is the collaboration between Dorte Kjettrup and Susanne Holmvang who are both driven by their strong interest in form and graphic. Their GUBEL idea – to create an object which is both a sculpture and a functional vase – is brought to life by the hands of artisans in a small pottery on the Danish island of Langeland.
The name of the GUBEL is inspired by the floating, alluring and mysterious sea creature of the jellyfish. The small version of the GUBEL is 6cm high and has a diameter of 14cm.
Made from fine porcelain with a glossy glaze finish in the inside and a raw finish on the inside, the small GUBEL can be used as a small vase for flowers, as a storage for jewellery, sweets or any other small items. Or it can be turned upside down and look beautiful in its graphic simplicity as a small sculpture. Only 500 of this beautiful object will be made every year.
