This the seasonal mug for summer 2020.  It reminds us how you can spend a summer day carelessly lazing outdoors.

The illustration of Arabia’s Moomin mug for the summer season is based on Tove Jansson’s comic book “Moomin Valley Turns Jungle”, which was published in English in 1956.

2020  marks the 75-year anniversary of
Tove Jansson publishing her first Moomin
novel. To celebrate the anniversary, this mug is part the #OURSEA campaign organised by Moomin Characters to raise one million euros for the conservation of the Baltic Sea.
The mug bears a special 2020 seasonal mug sticker and an #oursea sticker inside.

Capacity: 300ml. Height: 8cm. This is the TEEMA mug originally designed by Kaj Franck for Iittala.

The Moomins appeared for the first time in 1945 in a series of books and later a comic strip by Finnish writer Tove Jansson. They are a family of Scandinavian trolls who are white and plump in appearance, with large snouts that make them resemble hippopotamuses but not quite. They are a happy, carefree and adventurous family who live in their house in Moomin Valley with their many friends. The Arabia artist Tove Slotte-Elevant has redesigned the Moomin tableware collection in keeping with the original drawings.

The ceramic mugs are microwave and dishwasher safe.
