This is an original vase from his BACA range with a textural all over design by Nils Thorsoon (1898 – 1975).
The design incorporates a blending of fish, flowers and leaves in a cream and brown glaze. The BACA range began production in the 1960s and continued into the 1980s.
This vase goes often under the name of pillow vase or shouldered vase. It has a flat, curvaceous form with a oblong base. The height of the vase is approximately 19cm. The base of the vase is 14.5cm x 8.7. The opening of the mouth of the vase is 7cm x 4.8cm.
The base of the vase is fully marked with the pattern number (719) and the shape of the vase (3121). It bears the Thorsson’s monogram inside the BACA ring and it is code-dated (with bar under the G of COPENHAGEN) for the period 1969-1974.
We have included a photo of this vase with a smaller bottle vase from the same range. The smaller vase is also available for sale HERE.
