DESIGNER / Einar Johansen

DATE / 1960s original

An original stoneware table lamp base from designed by Einar Johansen for Soholm Pottery in the 1960s. The table lamp has a tall neck which widens towards the six-sided base. Each of the six sides of the base has a textured, carved, ladder-like decoration. The surface of the entire lamp base has a glossy glaze combining muted browns, greens and blues.

The lamp base measures 26cm to just below the lamp holder.

The base of the lamp is inscribed SOHOLM DENMARK STENTOJ 1021 and Einar Johansen’s monogram as shown in the pictures.

PLEASE NOTE; we currently have two table lamps in this pattern. Due to the handmade nature of these lamps, differences in pigment in the decoration around the base are noted. An image of the two lamps side by side has been provided.

The table lamp has been professionally rewired according to current Australian Standards with a white cord and lamp holder with an in line switch. It takes a B22 globe (bayonet) MAX 60W.

We recommend the use of an LED warm white globe with lower wattage to cut your energy costs and to provide you with increased lumens if necessary.
